Switch to Affinity and start saving!

Switch to Affinity to save money on your cell phone bill.

Switching cell phone providers can seem daunting. Saving money month after month is certainly worth the effort, though! And with today’s technology, you can even keep your current phone number. It does require a bit of work on your end, but with a little guidance (and our handy checklist!), you’ll be ready to make the switch to Affinity in no time!

Information You Need to Know

Whether you’re switching from a landline or another cell phone provider, there’s some information you’ll want to have at the ready:

  • Name and address on your account
  • Account number
  • Name of existing carrier
  • Pin code or password for existing account

In addition to knowing the information listed above, you should contact your existing provider to find out if they have any additional requirements. As you may imagine, they don’t want you to find another service, so they may ask you to take extra steps. To that same end, if you are currently in a contract, you may have to wait until the contractual period ends.

Keep Your Number when you switch to Affinity

Now that you have all the necessary information to make the switch, you need to start the “port” process. Porting your number is the term we use to describe moving your number to our service. Your number will not automatically switch providers, so you will need to contact our customer service team or manage the process online.

Timeline to Port Your Number

The port process is quick and easy. Affinity customer service will contact your current provider to transfer your number to your new phone. We do recommend starting the port process on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

While switching providers does require effort on your part, the monthly savings are well worth it. If you have additional questions about making the switch, our customer service team is always available to help!
